You are required to hold an advanced DBS disclosure in order to work with children. If you have one, great! If it is on the DBS update service we can check it and you are good to go. If not, not to worry, you can apply for a new DBS with us and register it on the update service.
What is a DBS?
A DBS is a disclosure and barring service enclosure which is a criminal records check on you as an individual. It used to be known as a CRB, a criminal records check from the Criminal Records Bureau. Click here for more details – DBS Checks.
What is the DBS Update Service?
The update service allows applicants to keep their DBS certificate up to date and allows employers to check a registered certificate. This means you don’t have to get a new DBS everywhere you go, you simply register with the service and pay £13 per year to keep your certificate up to date. Click here for more details – DBS Update Service.
I need a new DBS, how do I apply?
We can provide you with the forms at your registration interview to apply via a paper application. This costs £44 which is the full cost to the Disclosure and Barring Service, we process the application with no admin fee. Alternatively, you can apply online through our online service which comes with a £10 admin fee. These can come back slightly faster than the paper applications so sometimes paying the extra can be beneficial as you can get out to work earlier. The choice is yours!
